The impact of the pandemic on SMEs is significant, thinking about it Microsoft organized a fair of technological solutions for SMEs completely free and virtual. The fair was held from October 27 to 29, where solutions that have the potential to reinvent the operations of organizations in Latin America were exhibited.

The event featured the participation of 9 technology companies from Peru, Ecuador, and Uruguay with scope to Bolivia and Paraguay.

Technology for economic recovery
The solutions of this event specialized in making companies of all sizes more efficient, but with a special focus on SMEs due to the important role that companies play in creating jobs (more than 50% of formal jobs) and that has been seen severely affected by the crisis.
Therefore, technology seeks to improve the experience of its customers, optimize the processes of its companies, and strengthen the training of its employees.

Among the solutions that were exhibited are:
-Solutions such as Robotic Process Automation (RPA) that allows automating manual processes such as the control and income of payment vouchers with the ability to connect to other company systems, create and edit documents and even read information from other screens.
-The automation in customer service, where virtual agent solutions will be presented with the ability to manage complex processes such as claims and incidents with customers, even extending their reach to social networks.
– The implementation of applications to return to work safely as it allows the generation of controls for the personnel, recognizing possible points of contagion, and generating alerts.

“Today, digital transformation should not be an option, but an immediate strategic decision to guarantee its competitiveness in the market. To achieve this, it is important to know which technology best meets the needs of each company. In the case of SMEs, they can choose to pay monthly to use the most appropriate tools for their businesses and those that provide the most benefits, in order to avoid large capital investments that have been so affected by the pandemic. Thus, investment stimulates and feeds its economic recovery.” indicated Lourdes Bielich, manager of Small and Medium Enterprises of Microsoft South Region.
