On International Day of Peace, 21 of September, the Honourable Mélanie Joly Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Honourable Harjit Sajjan Minister of International Development and Minister responsible for the Pacific Economic Development Agency of Canada, and the Honourable Sean Fraser Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, issued the following statement:
"In his 1957 Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech, Lester B. Pearson said, 'Of all our dreams today there is none more important-or so hard to realize-than that of peace in the world. May we never lose our faith in it or our resolve to do everything that can be done to convert it one day into reality'.
"For all that has changed in the world in the 65 years since Prime Minister Pearson received the Nobel Prize, the importance of peace-and its elusiveness-remains constant. Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of the person, and Canada is determined to support peaceful and prosperous societies around the world that respect human rights and diversity...

PERUMIN, one of the most important mining events in the world, organized by the Institute of Mining Engineers of Peru (IIMP) since 1954, has its 35th edition motto as "Building a better Peru together" with which it seeks to promote a multi-stakeholder dialogue between the State, companies, and civil society.
Some of the highlights:
Christine Gibbs Stewart, CEO of Austmine Ltd. in Australia, spoke about the METs, a model praised within the mining sector, which generates an articulation between suppliers of equipment, technologies, and services for mining. The METS sector is recognized as one of the most technologically advanced, innovative, and internationalized in Australia.
Augusto Cauti, a member of the TIS Forum, questioned whether Peru considers lithium a strategic resource when there is still no tacit development of it, and yet copper is not properly exploited, which is evidence of its abundance in the country.
The start-up of the first autonomous trucks in Peruvian mining, by Ferreyros and Caterpillar, was highlighted as an event of maximum importance in the sector, after the successful delivery of 28 autonomous Cat 794 AC trucks, with a capacity of 320 tons, to the Quellaveco mine.
