Juegos-Panamericanos-LIMA-2027
The success of Lima's designation for the 2027 Pan American Games

In just eight years, Lima will once again be the headquarters of the "Sport event of the Americas". On March 12 in Miami, 40 presidents of the National Olympic Committees voted virtually for Lima, which had organized the Pan American Games in 2019, to do them again in 2027.

There were two factors that tipped the balance in favor of Peru. After LIMA 2019, the Peruvian government created LEGADO, the special program that maintains the infrastructure of five top-level sports complexes. Thanks to this, Peru has since organized a series of international tournaments and this year it will host five Youth World Cups. Peru has the experience, the "know how".

The other determining factor was the solid Peruvian presentation, led by Prime Minister Gustavo Adrianzén, the Minister of Education Miriam Ponce, the mayor of Lima Rafael López Aliaga, the first councilor of Lima Renzo Reggiardo, and the captain of the Peruvian volleyball team, Eduardo Romay.
