Honourable Senator Rosa Galvez
The PCCC is proud to announce that the Honourable Rosa Galvez, Ph.D., P.Eng., FEC, FCSCE, has been nominated as Honorary Director of this Chamber for her outstanding achievements in education, research, private and governmental institutions.
Senator Dr. Rosa Galvez was appointed to the Senate on December 6, 2016, representing Québec (Bedford).
The Peruvian Canadian Chamber of Commerce - PCCC is proud to announce that the Honourable Rosa Galvez, Ph.D., P.Eng., FEC, FCSCE, has been nominated as Honorary Director of this Chamber for her outstanding achievements in education, research, private and governmental institutions.
Born in Lima, Peru, Rosa Galvez is an environmental engineer, a researcher and professor at Laval University in Québec, and an independent Senator for Québec. Her fields of expertise include water and wastewater treatment processes, soil rehabilitation, sustainable development, municipal and hazardous waste management, and environmental impacts assessments. She has acted as an expert for national and international agencies in the Americas, Europe and more.
Senator Galvez said: “It is such an honour to receive this nomination. I believe that my international experience in research, private entities and governmental institutions could be useful for the members of the Peruvian Canadian Chamber of Commerce. We have a great opportunity to build stronger economic ties between our countries, especially with the Canada-Peru Free Trade Agreement. I hope to bring value to the Chamber in the years to come.”
The PCCC will continue to promote and stimulate commercial development and investment between Canadian and Peruvian companies in a spirit of cooperation and social responsibility. It hopes to be strategic ally to government agencies to facilitate trade negotiations between both countries.
