PERUMIN 36 is the leading Mining Convention in Latin America and the world, which will take place from September 25 to 29 at the Cerro Juli Convention Center, in Arequipa. This great event, organized by the Institute of Mining Engineers of Peru (IIMP), will bring together the most prominent leaders of the global mining sector, investors, researchers and professionals to analyze the challenges and opportunities of the mining industry.

The PERUMIN 36 International Meeting will take place on the afternoons of September 26 and 27, and it will have the valuable participation of Canada, an Allied Country in this edition, represented by Louis Marcotte, Canadian ambassador to Peru and Bolivia, as well as the canadian professionals who are part of the program.

This year it presents two pillars of discussion: innovation and sustainability, within the framework of the advances of the global mining industry and the trends in relevant topics that influence it, such as the energy transition, which increases the demand for critical minerals. Peru produces 8 of the 17 critical minerals for the global energy transition: copper, iron, lead, molybdenum, silver, zinc, indium and graphite.

Peru has an excellent opportunity like Canada by having reserves of critical minerals and some rare earths. With these deposits that will be necessary for the most modern technology, related to renewable energies, electromobility and telecommunications, Peru can be part of the leadership.

Over decades, Canada and its model of mining clusters-poles has been developing synergy and shared learning. Clusters are areas of great commercial activity made up of a critical mass of SMEs, universities, technical institutes and research centers. The supply value chain thus created involves thousands of talented local companies that not only supply the mines in the area of influence, but also export an increasing variety of goods and services to the global mining industry, having gained a reputation for quality and innovation around the world.

Peru to present mining investment advances https://perucanadacc.ca/minister-vera-will-present-mining-investment-advances/ https://perucanadacc.ca/minister-vera-will-present-mining-investment-advances/#respond Wed, 01 Mar 2023 18:59:49 +0000 https://perucanadacc.ca/?p=34435 Peru to present mining investment advances

On Monday, March 6, the Minister of Energy and Mines, Oscar Vera will inaugurate “Peru Day” at PDAC 2023, an event dedicated entirely to our country, and will present the progress of Peruvian mining investment to the foreign business world attending this convention.

The head of Minem will make a presentation on mining investment opportunities in Peru and the competitive advantages that have placed us as the second largest copper producer in the world, leaders in zinc and tin production in Latin America, first in silver reserves, lead, and molybdenum in Latin America and silver worldwide.

He will also show the enormous geological potential of Peru, where 14.48% of the national territory is concessioned for mining activity; and only 1.34% of these concessions are earmarked for exploration and exploitation activities. Likewise, Peru offers a modern National Geological Chart and a safe, accessible, and reliable Mining Cadastre System, which is a guarantee for investment.

It should be noted that on Sunday the 5th, Minister Vera will inaugurate the Peruvian Pavilion, a stand installed with the purpose of promoting Peru as an important destination for international investment in mining exploration to the more than 25,000 attendees at the PDAC.

In both events, the head of the Ministry of Energy and Mines will be accompanied by an official delegation from the mining subsector made up of the Vice Minister of Mines, Jaime Chávez-Riva, the General Director of Mining Promotion and Sustainability, Walter Sánchez, the Director of Mining Management, Martha Vásquez, among other sector officials.

Likewise, the president of the Geological Mining Metallurgical Institute (Ingemmet), Henry Luna, will be present, as well as important Peruvian mining businessmen.

March 06 is Peru Day at PDAC 2023 https://perucanadacc.ca/march-06-is-peru-day-at-pdac-2023/ https://perucanadacc.ca/march-06-is-peru-day-at-pdac-2023/#respond Wed, 01 Mar 2023 17:03:37 +0000 https://perucanadacc.ca/?p=34432 March 06 is Peru Day at PDAC 2023

In 2022, despite the pandemic, Peru managed to start a new mine and will soon complete the construction of another. In addition, they have expanded several mines and received approval to start new mining projects. But recent social unrest is now jeopardizing contract compliance and stalled purchase orders creating notable challenges for Canadian mining suppliers in Peru.

On Monday, March 6th, at the 2023 Peru day at PDAC, we seek to identify lessons learned from these circumstances and identify opportunities in the context of enhancing the virtues of the Peruvian mining industry and overcoming the flaws that have slowed down its dynamism in recent years, by contrasting the views and proposals of mining leaders and senior government officers.

Check the Peru Day Schedule or the full PDAC 2023 Schedule for more details.

This year, the international mineral exploration and mining industry once again is gearing up for the annual Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) convention in Toronto. From June 13 to 15, visit the Trade Show, South Building, where at Booth 1423, Peru will showcase its products and services, connect with decision-makers, and promote brand awareness to a worldwide market.

And on Tuesday, June 14 from 9 AM to 12 PM, there is the “Peru Day Session”, organized by the Ministry of Energy and Mines of Peru.

Under a climate of social, economic, and political reforms, what should investors expect? Why despite political challenges, does Peru remain one of the fastest-growing economies in Latin America? Will there be reforms that affect or improve Peru’s mining competitiveness? What should be the role of the mining industry?

Kuya Silver discovers new gold-bearing vein at Bethania Silver project https://perucanadacc.ca/kuya-silver-discovers-new-gold-bearing-vein-at-bethania-silver-project/ https://perucanadacc.ca/kuya-silver-discovers-new-gold-bearing-vein-at-bethania-silver-project/#respond Mon, 28 Feb 2022 23:32:06 +0000 https://pcccinfo.com/?p=33426 KUYA SILVER discovers new gold-bearing vein at BETHANIA SILVER project

Kuya Silver Corporation President and CEO, David Stein, announced new discoveries at the Bethania Silver Project in Huancavelica, Peru, made through its ongoing surface sampling program.

In November 2021, Kuya commenced a renewed surface sampling program at the Project, where samples were taken around the Bethania Mine area and along strike at the Hilltop Zone.

David Stein stated, “With numerous mineralized veins and structures right at the surface, mapping and sampling the vein systems keep providing us with more and more exciting targets. In the past, rudimentary exploration of the Bethania veins through underground tunneling gave us a great starting point, our surface sampling program combined with drilling is revealing a bigger and more complex vein system with significant growth potential. On top of that, now that we have a district-scale land package under our control, we can repeat our exploration process on several other high-priority targets nearby.” Stein says recently, the group received construction authorization for its Bethania Process Plant, permitting construction of a 350 tonne per day processing plant, a tailings management facilities, and other infrastructure.

On February 21, the Company filed a technical report with an effective date of January 6, 2022, prepared in accordance with the Canadian Securities Administrators’ National Instrument 43‐101 ‐ Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects (“NI 43‐101”).

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Kuya Silver is actively engaged in building on a strong legacy of working cooperatively with the local Poroche community to develop a mutually beneficial, safe, and sustainable mining business in the region.
